Molly Sheppard
Director of Winery Strategy
Molly Sheppard wears several hats at Spottswoode. A passionate environmentalist and a skilled winemaker who honed her craft at top wineries in Australia and Napa Valley, Molly oversees our industry-leading environmental initiatives and acts as an ambassador for our wines across the country and around the world.
Raised in Victoria, Australia, Molly first learned about wine from her father, a wine distributor and a home winemaker who farmed an acre of Pinot Noir. With an oenology and viticulture degree, Molly worked at Vasse Felix, Greenstone Vineyards, and Andrew Peace Wines in Australia, and at Trefethen in Napa Valley, before joining Spottswoode in 2018 and helping to make some of Spottswoode’s most acclaimed wines.
Today, besides supporting our trade partners and distributors with winemaker-level knowledge, Molly plays a pivotal role in overseeing our Demeter Biodynamic, Regenerative Organic, and B Corp certifications, measuring our GHG emissions, and creating emission-reduction plans for Spottswoode’s IWCA Gold membership. She also guides our education program and works with VP of sales and marketing Heather de Savoye on our global sales strategy. Outside of Spottswoode, Molly is a mentor with the Bâtonnage: Women in Wine Program and is on the Napa Green Board of Directors.
