Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon

2020 Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon

Jamessuckling.com, James Suckling

Aromas of blackcurrant, hazelnut and chocolate, with hints of mint and sage that follow through to a medium to full body, with wonderful soft and fine tannins that give a velvety texture and persistent finish. So balanced and refined. Subtle. Didn’t include wine from vineyards in Atlas Peak this year. An excellent 2020. Drinkable, but will improve so well in the cellar. 95 points (February 8, 2023)

Ken’s Wine Guide, Ken Hoggins

This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Spottswoode opens with a cassis, cedar, and black cherry bouquet with hints of black tea and black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, soft, smooth, and elegant. The flavor profile is red currant and red plum blend with notes of cranberry. We also detected some hints of cinnamon, crushed stone, and cedar. The finish is dry, and its persistent fine grained dusty tannins are very long. 94 points (February 6, 2023)
